Frequently Asked Questions

Short, clear answers to the most common questions about car rental at MaxRent. Full legal details in our Terms and Conditions.

1Who can rent

How old do I have to be to rent a car?

21 years old completed and at least 3 years of driving experience. Same requirement for the main and the additional driver. Details: Renter requirements.

What is the minimum driving experience?

3 uninterrupted years, confirmed by your driving license. If you obtained your license more recently, we cannot rent to you at this point.

What documents should I bring?

Just your passport (or ID) and driving license. One day before the start of the rental, you send us photos via WhatsApp - this way we prepare the contract in advance and meet you quickly at the parking. Details: Booking and documents.

Can I rent if I am a foreigner?

Yes. We accept clients of any nationality. You need a driving license recognised on the territory of the Republic of Moldova (from the EU, international or equivalent) and a valid passport. No extra requirements for foreigners.

Can I add a second driver?

Yes, for an extra €4.50/day. The second driver must also be 21+ years old with 3+ years of experience and send us the same photos (passport + license). They are added to the contract and have the official right to drive the car. Details: Additional driver.

2Payment, deposit, booking

How much does the rental cost?

The rate for each model is listed in the Catalogue. The price includes OCA (mandatory insurance) and all taxes - no surprises on pickup. For long-term rentals or special conditions, write us on WhatsApp +373 60 721 721 and we will agree.

Can I pay by card or only cash?

Whichever you prefer. Payment is made on pickup day, 100%, card or cash - your choice. Details: Payment and deposit.

What is the deposit and why cash only?

The deposit is €100-300 left at pickup and returned in full at the end if the car is fine. The exact amount depends on the model. We accept cash only - we do not block funds on your card. This is our advantage over big rental companies: your card stays free for your trip.

What is included in the price?

OCA (mandatory car insurance), taxes and VAT. Fuel is not included (the car is given full and returned full). Extra options (child seat, Wi-Fi, additional driver, border access) are paid separately - clear pricing at online booking.

Can I cancel or reschedule the booking?

Yes, on an individual basis. No rigid cancellation policy. Write us on WhatsApp +373 60 721 721 as early as possible - in most cases we reschedule or cancel without issue. Details: Booking.

3Rules and limits

What is the mileage limit?

250 km per day. The limit accumulates over the entire rental period (4 days = 1,000 km total - use them as you wish). Over the limit - €0.20/km. For long trips or extended rentals, write us and we can agree on an extended limit. Details: Mileage limit.

Can I smoke or transport pets?

Smoking inside the car is prohibited (including e-cigarettes). Pets may be transported only in a carrier or box that protects the interior. Details: Usage rules.

Can I use the car as a taxi, Bolt or for deliveries?

No. Our cars are strictly for personal use. Any commercial use (taxi, Bolt, Uber, Yandex, courier deliveries) is prohibited - insurance does not cover this type of usage. Details: Usage rules.

Should I return the car clean?

Yes, in the same condition you received it: clean outside and inside. If you return it too dirty for us to inspect the body, a cleaning service fee of €10-20 applies (depending on the model). It is not a penalty - it is simply the direct cost of the wash so that we can do a proper visual inspection. If it is raining - it is enough to remove the mud layer. Details: Vehicle cleanliness.

Where can I travel with the rental car?
